Harmos Horton Lusk funds advanced commercial law scholarship
A SCHOLARSHIP to encourage postgraduate study in commercial law at the University of Auckland has been funded by Harmos Horton Lusk, a specialist corporate legal firm in Auckland.
One scholarship worth $10,000 to a full-time student and paid pro-rata to a part-timer will be awarded each year.
Selection is based on demonstrated or potential academic merit. The recipient, enrolled in the LLM specialising in commercial law, must have a grade point average of at least six, while demonstrating financial need and potential to contribute to the legal profession.
Where there is more than one candidate of equal merit, preference will be given to someone doing a research LLM. The selection committee comprises the Dean of Law, the director of the Research Centre for Business Law, and a representative of Harmos Horton Lusk.
Applications for the 2010 scholarship close with the University’s Scholarships Office, Private Bag 92019, Auckland, on 31 March.
